Description

My name is Esmé Douglas and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I attended Columbia University School of Nursing from 2021 to 2024 and received my Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a speciality in psychiatry (DNP) during this time. During this time I completed all of my clinical rotations at various hospitals within the New York-Presbyterian Hospital network, including Cornell and Columbia. I also completed a semester-long psychotherapy clinical rotation at Bloom Psychotherapy NYC, working with peripartum women. My clinical expertise is rooted in a year-long, intensive practicum at a New York-Presbyterian Hospital inpatient psychiatric hospital, where I gained experience managing a variety of acute, chronic, and complex mental health conditions, conducting psychiatric assessments, implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care. I am passionate about holistic, patient-centered care that integrates psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and health promotion. With strong communication skills and a commitment to collaboration, I excel in working with interdisciplinary teams to deliver effective, culturally sensitive care. My goal is to empower patients on their journey to recovery, while advancing clinical outcomes through my own lifelong learning and the integration of the latest research into practice.
