Derek McConnell, PT, DP,T is a physical therapist and the Clinical Director of Professional Physical Therapy in New Brunswick, NJ. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2009 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2012. Since attaining his doctorate, he has spent the majority of his career treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions, specializing in manual therapy. While working through college and graduate school, he was a nursing aide in the traumatic brain injury unit at Kessler’s inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Chester, NJ. He describes it as the most rewarding job he’s ever had, as it allowed him to help people when they were at their lowest, performing tasks that nobody wanted to do but that patients needed most. He is known for being tough on patients while following through with their care with compassion.
