Dr. Lulla specializes in medication management for young adults and adults. His expertise is related to addressing issues related to mood and anxiety disorders, and working with clients from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. He has training in various evidence-based therapies including Supportive Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which inform his psychiatric practice. Dr. Lulla has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics. He enjoys working in the outpatient setting where he can take on a collaborative and holistic approach and can form longitudinal relationships with patients. Dr. Lulla believes a patient-centred and evidence-based approach to treatment is the best way to help his patients achieve their goals in the short and long term.

In addition to his clinical practice with COPE, he is currently a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow at Stanford University and is actively involved in research at Stanford to understand how to utilize virtual and augmented reality to improve psychiatric outcomes. He received his BA from Rutgers University, his PhD from UCLA, and his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his training at the UCLA VA/Greater Los Angeles Psychiatry Program, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Lulla has been recognized at the local and national level for his contributions to the field of Psychiatry, research, and medical education, and currently serves as an American Psychiatric Association Foundation Fellow.
