Shaina joined PHDematology after receiving her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University, graduating cum laude in 2022. Shaina has undergone an intense training program with the physicians of PHDermatology and now enjoys seeing general dermatology patients in our offices. Shaina obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida before beginning her Master’s program. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (FSDPA). Shaina is a Tampa native and an active member of the Shanna and Bryan Glazer JCC. She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially on the water, and recently welcomed her first child. Shaina is dedicated to treating each patient with the utmost care and compassion using the latest dermatological advances. This provider’s Primary Supervising Physician is Margaret Haskell Rinker. Named to Newsweek/Sharista Research’s 2022 and 2023 ranking of America’s Best Dermatologists, Dr. Leavitt grew up in Orlando and graduated from Lake Highland Preparatory School as Salutatorian. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbour, where he received the James Angel Scholarship for Academic Achievement. Dr. Leavitt graduated first in his class from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed his dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, where he received recognition for being a top educator of students and fellow residents. He received NIH grants for research and has published several peer-reviewed articles in the fields of dermatology and plastic surgery. Dr. Leavitt practices in several Advanced Dermatology Offices in greater Orlando and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery. He treats both pediatric and adult patients. He has a particular interest in common and complex medical dermatology, including acne and rosacea, skin cancer detection, cosmetic dermatology, medical and surgical hair loss treatments, and hair transplantation and restoration. In his free time, the lifelong Michigan Wolverines fan enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, cooking, and watching movies.
