Description

Welcome.

If you’re here, I imagine you may be feeling stuck or uncertain about how to move forward in your life. I would like to help you take the next steps. In our work together, we will find ways for you to more meaningfully connect with yourself and with those who are important to you.

This work may include facing something from your past, gaining new awareness of repetitive cycles of behaviour, navigating a difficult life transition, or the opportunity to freely discover and playfully explore your own subjectivity and imagination. I also work with couples to improve their communication by identifying how they get stuck trying to resolve conflict, while also finding ways to achieve greater emotional intimacy.

My areas of focus include depression (particularly with men), anxiety, premarital counselling, artistic stress, trauma, bereavement, and interpersonal difficulties. My approach is collaborative, active, warm, and transparent. Having worked as an actor previously, I am particularly aware of the impact of the body on our wellbeing, the nuances of the creative process, and the various (and often contradictory) roles we play in our relationships.

Integrating this perspective in my practice has benefited my work with creatives and non-creatives alike. My practice is primarily psychodynamic; I begin with the assumption that people develop certain patterns of interacting with others in childhood, and that these patterns are repeated throughout life.

I use the therapeutic relationship to help clarify these conscious and unconscious patterns of relating. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, which has informed my understanding and approach to therapy. If you think we may be a good fit together, please schedule a consultation.
