Amishi Desai, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in lung malignancies.

Dr. Desai earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from K.J. Somaiya Medical College in India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital, where she also pursued a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and served as Chief Fellow. At Winthrop-University Hospital, Dr. Desai was part of the Venous Thromboembolism Committee, dedicating herself to developing strategies to reduce the length of stay for patients admitted with venous thromboembolism. Additionally, she was responsible for instructing Winthrop residents in oncology and hematology. In 2015, Dr. Desai was awarded first prize for her research on venous thromboembolism. The following year, she was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine in Hematology and Oncology at the State University of New York Medical School.
