Description
I am a clinical psychologist with a PhD in Psychology from Walden University and over 10 years of experience working with teens, young adults, and families. I’m trained in EMDR for the treatment of trauma and have deep expertise in assessments related to developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, personality disorders, psychiatric disorders, and various traumas.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals, those with severe mental health issues, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and suicidal ideations and behaviours. My therapeutic approach is highly individualized. Although I follow evidence-based treatments, I believe it is extremely important to tailor therapy based on the person, their life experiences, and their unique needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Sometimes, evidence-based therapies can be helpful tools, but they should be used in combination with building a sense of who you are as a person and what benefits you most.
