Description
Life contains ebbs and flows, and often the difficulty lies in how we navigate these different phases. In my practice, I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and strive to create an open and non-judgmental therapy space where clients feel they can show up as their most authentic selves.
I utilize a holistic, culturally informed, and integrative approach to treatment that honours an individual’s lived experience. I believe that a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship is vital to building comfort in the therapy space
. I approach treatment through a client-centred, relational lens, blending skills-based, cognitive-behavioural, exposure and response prevention, and psychodynamic therapy approaches. Through these methods, I help those I work with develop a growth mindset as they heal and build on their strengths.
Growing up as the child of immigrant parents is an integral part of my background and has significantly shaped how I navigate the mental health field. This experience has fostered a special interest in exploring intergenerational trauma and its impact on how individuals move through and understand the world around them. Navigating one’s cultural identity can be deeply personal, and I consider it a privilege to join clients on their journey of self-understanding and exploration.
I earned my PsyD in Child Psychology and a Master’s in School Psychology from Pace University, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University. These educational experiences have further enriched my ability to provide compassionate, informed care. “Most big transformations come about from the hundreds of tiny, almost imperceptible, steps we take along the way.” – Lori Gottlieb.
