Dr. Liqiao Ma is from Norman, Oklahoma. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and graduated with honours as a member of Junior Alpha Omega Alpha, awarded to the top 10% of her class.

Dr. Ma completed her internal medicine intern year at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Her residency training in Dermatology was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. During all three years of Dermatology residency, she received the Award for Cognitive Excellence, which is given to residents who score more than 90 percentile in the national exams. Dr. Ma has an interest in general dermatology, skin cancer prevention, and cosmetic dermatology.

In her spare time, Dr. Ma enjoys spending time with her husband and their chocolate lab.
