Dr. Meera Rao, a proud New Jersey native, earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the esteemed University of St. Augustine in San Diego. Now settled in Jersey City, Dr. Meera is deeply committed to helping her community achieve optimal health and well-being.

Having faced multiple injuries throughout her life, most notably chronic back pain, Dr. Meera understands firsthand the frustration of navigating ineffective treatments. After years of searching, she discovered that personalized, one-on-one care was the key to long-term relief and recovery. Inspired by her own journey, she has dedicated her career to delivering the same high-quality, individualized care to her patients. Dr. Meera’s approach goes beyond treating physical symptoms. Drawing insights from the groundbreaking book The Body Keeps the Score, she educates her patients not only on the physiological causes of pain but also on the emotional and psychological factors that can affect healing. This passion led her to become a program leader with NAMI, where she trains healthcare professionals in trauma-informed care, an essential skill when supporting individuals with mental health challenges.
