Description
Nicholas Wessling, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon with dual fellowship training in sports medicine and foot & ankle surgery. With such extensive training, Dr. Wessling treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions and traumatic injuries, with a special focus on shoulder, knee, foot, and ankle disorders. Dr. Wessling has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery including MIS bunion correction along with arthroscopic shoulder, knee, and ankle surgeries. He also performs total ankle replacements along with other foot and ankle reconstructive procedures. Dr. Wessling grew up in Kansas and attended the University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree and medical school. He then went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in NYC. After residency, Dr. Wessling completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Miami Ankle Foot International Associates where he received comprehensive training in treating foot and ankle conditions along with participating in the care of athletes from the Miami Dolphins. Dr. Wessling then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital and received additional training in minimally invasive and advanced arthroscopic techniques for the treatment of sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. During this fellowship, Dr. Wessling participated in the care of athletes from the New York Jets, New York Islanders, Manhattanville, and Hunter College. Dr. Wessling is a part of NY Orthopedics. Outside of his practice, he enjoys running, tennis, and hiking.
