Dr. Raj Raval is a fellowship-trained Interventional Pain & Musculoskeletal Medicine Specialist. Dr. Raval completed a General Surgery internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and further specialized in Interventional Pain and Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Center for Advanced Pain Management and Rehabilitation/Rutger’s University in New Jersey. Dr. Raval’s clinical efforts are directed at the treatment of acute and chronic spinal pain, and non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. Dr. Raval says the three main complaints he hears from patients are neck pain, lower back pain, and musculoskeletal-related pain (knee, shoulder, and hip pain). “ You can similarly treat them, but, at the same time, they have to be treated differently. We have to use multiple options including physical therapy & medications which help in the functional restoration, and if they need interventional injection therapy we are here to do it,” says Dr. Raval. He offers a full complement of interventional therapies including epidural injections, facet injections, SI joint injections, RF ablation, spinal cord stimulation, implanted spinal drug delivery systems, and minimally invasive lumbar decompression by utilizing fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided techniques. He brings to the practice, knowledge, and experience in Interventional pain management and regenerative medicine, with a dedication to restoring function and improving the quality of life for all patients. Dr. Raval is a member of the Spine Intervention Society (SIS), the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPMR), and World Medicine of Pain Medicine United (WAPMU)
