Description

I believe in the saying, “If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day, but if you teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.” I teach techniques that can be implemented to overcome current hurdles and are also transferable to be used in the future as needs arise. My approach is to work collaboratively with clients to meet them where they are and learn their goals and aspirations so that we can develop a plan together to overcome obstacles. I have experience and enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. My work is focused on helping individuals and families who are struggling with mood and learning disorders, anxiety, trauma, and other challenges. I primarily practice psychodynamic techniques, and also incorporate CBT, mindfulness, trauma-focused, Family Dynamics, Family Systems, and other modalities as appropriate. I have diverse experience working with children, families, and adults across settings, including schools, homes, hospitals, long-term care facilities, family court and juvenile justice systems, as well as those involved with DHS, foster care, and the adoption process. Working with individuals and families experiencing and living with health challenges and/or disabilities is of particular interest to me.
