Brandy Cooks-Thomas is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) committed to holistic, patient-centered care. With a background in both education and healthcare, she empowers individuals to take charge of their well-being. Brandy earned her degree in Human Biology: Brain and Behavior from Brown University, sparking her fascination with the mind-body connection. She joined Teach For America, teaching third grade while earning a Master’s in Teaching from Pace University. After years in education, she transitioned to nursing, earning her BSN and MSN as an FNP from Emory University. Working in a rural community, she saw the urgent need for mental health resources, leading her to obtain a psychiatric mental health certification from Southeastern Louisiana University. Brandy fosters a trusting, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and supported. She takes a holistic approach, addressing both physical and mental health concerns, with a passion for helping individuals manage mood disorders, addiction, and trauma. Outside of work, she enjoys psychological thrillers, traveling with her son, and shopping. Her warmth, dedication, and integrative approach make her a trusted provider and advocate for her clients’ well-being.
