Dr. Mahira Tanovic, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, with extensive experience in the field. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Sarajevo Medical School, Sarajevo School of Science and Technology.

Dr. Tanovic completed her general surgery residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, followed by her plastic surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. Trained by leaders in plastic surgery both in the US and Europe, Dr. Tanovic uniquely combines these approaches in her practice. Highly regarded by peers and patients alike, she is an extremely skilled surgeon who remains calm and focused on achieving the best results. She tailors her approach to the specific needs of each patient, providing personalized and professional care. Safety and well-being are her primary criteria in decision-making and planning.

Dr. Tanovic is equally comfortable performing reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries and routinely performs numerous hand procedures.
