Dr. Michael Schopis is a double board-certified, compassionate and highly rated gastroenterologist at Manhattan Gastroenterology. Dr. Schopis is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a proud member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACGG) and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE).
Dr. Schopis has received numerous honours and awards throughout his medical training. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelors of Science in Nutrition from Ohio State University. He then received the Dean’s Scholarship and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), which is the national medical honour society from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. During his residency and fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, he received awards as an Outstanding House Officer. Dr.Schopis and his impressive academic accomplishments, along with his strong passion for patient care, have earned him an excellent reputation in NYC. Dr. Schopis has frequently published in medical literature and has presented abstracts and presentations in gastroenterology.
As a practicing gastroenterologist, Dr. Schopis has a special interest in prevention, colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, GERD, Hemorrhoid Treatment and Celiac Disease. Dr. Schopis and the Manhattan Gastroenterology practice are affiliated with the world-renowned NY Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
