My clients often say talking to me is more natural than they expected and closer to talking with a friend. I don’t see myself as a formal therapist, as many people think of, but rather as a support person who helps you find your way. I offer my expertise, but provide it in a more real, non-intimidating way. Often, talking through a problem with a supportive, knowledgeable person helps people solve issues and figure out their goals. I tend to use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) strategies, such as reconsidering your perspective on a problem that keeps returning. You can expect real strategies, focused on real problems, that will make a significant difference in your life going forward.
