Description

I deeply believe in every individual’s potential to grow, change, and solve problems. Using several approaches to tailor therapy to each client, we work together to achieve more self-compassion, awareness, and understanding. This team effort is applied to best cultivate the most effective and efficient ways to reach all goals. Often in my practice, Cognitive as well as Dialectical-Behavioral therapy (CBT and DBT), paired with mindfulness techniques, are used to explore the ways in which thoughts affect feelings, which directly affects actions taken (or not taken). I treat a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, addictions, psycho-spiritual/religious conflicts, intrapersonal identity, sexuality, and trauma, to name a few. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA community-some “out,” others not; some “still figuring it out;” some religious/spiritual, others not. I’ll meet you where you are. I hold an MSEd in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, which informs my compassionate and client-centered approach.
