Dr. Islam Abbassi is a compassionate and experienced Podiatrist in New Jersey, with a strong background in sports medicine, foot and ankle surgery, wound care, lower extremity dermatology, and biomechanics.
Driven by his athletic background in basketball, football, and martial arts (Taekwondo black belt), Dr. Abbassi understands the importance of pain-free movement and injury prevention. He is passionate about helping individuals of all ages maintain active lifestyles.
Dr. Abbassi earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, followed by a comprehensive 3-year surgical residency at the Veterans Health Hospital in East Orange, where he served as chief resident. His training also included rotations at Community Medical Center and Saint Peter’s University Hospital.
