Description
Deborah S. Presken, M.D., is more than a physician; she’s a compassionate advocate for humane, intelligent, and humorous healthcare. Her journey began at Wellesley College, where she co-founded a suicide prevention hotline and passionately fought against apartheid and anti-Semitism. While initially harbouring dreams of single-handedly solving the Middle East Crisis, a life-altering event reshaped her path. Dr. Presken’s closest friend was diagnosed with lymphoma and, tragically, lost the battle to the disease.
This heartbreaking experience ignited her commitment to becoming a physician dedicated to treating patients, their families, and friends with the utmost dignity and respect. It was a turning point that instilled in her a profound passion for acquiring the knowledge necessary to prevent and minimize the impact of diseases, even if the Middle East Crisis remained unsolved.
